Adobe 1, Limbaugh 0

Posted by Goo Man on February 18, 2009

Media Matters reports that on a recent broadcast, blabber mouth and drug abuser, Rush Limbaugh, stated the Democrats,

“…have reformatted the bill — they’ve made it a PDF file when they posted it. Now, for those of you that don’t use computers, basically what that means is that it cannot be keyword searched. A PDF file is essentially a picture of a page. And, so, you can read every page, but you cannot keyword search it. It’s not a text file as legislation normally is as posted on these public websites. They don’t want anybody knowing what’s in this; they want it happening as fast as possible so nobody can know what’s in it.

As Media Matters shows, one can search the PDF file by clicking on a button named SEARCH, and alternatively, by navigating to EDIT>FIND. Crazy!

I submit, as another alternative, one can discover what’s in the bill by reading it. Glide your vision, using your eyeballs, left to right across the line. When you get to the end, scan back to the left, drop down a line and repeat. If your oxycodone abuse is causing dimness in your vision due to miosis, turn on an extra lamp.

That Crazy Gingrich

Posted by Goo Man on September 8, 2008

Ed Brayton has a post where he includes a video showing Newt Gingrich speaking on “protecting marriage.”

He doesn’t want same sex couples to marry. He wants only straight people to be able to marry, cheat on their spouses, hand divorce papers to a spouse while they are recovering from cancer surgery, remarry, cheat on 2nd spouse, marry a 3rd time. Or something like that.

From Brayton:

Newt, if you want to protect marriage, stop getting married. At the very last, stop cheating on every wife you have.

Be Careful What You Ask For

Posted by Goo Man on August 27, 2008

You may have heard that Stuart Shepard, from Focus On Family, asked his peeps to pray for rain on the day of the DNC.  He wanted god or jeebus or whomever to rain out Obama’s speech because Stu Stu doesn’t like our next Presidents stand on abortion and gay marriage.

Welp, great job godboy.  You did get a little rain.  The Fox News skybox in Denver was flooded by the sprinkler system. Awesome!

And as if that wasn’t enough, Climate Progress reports a major hurricane may be heading to New Orleans just in time for the repub convention. Your god sure does work in mysterious ways, asshole.

And I love Keith Olbermann sometimes.

Behold! The Newest Threat To America!

Posted by Goo Man on June 18, 2008

Del Martin and Phyllis Lyon:  Destroyers of America!

Well that’s what some commenters on this recent CNN iReport think.

I’m nearly continuously surprised how bass-ackward some people in this country are.  One of the more prevalent comments I read was how xtian school children are “forced” to learn tolerance for gays and lesbians, but when the poor persecuted xtian wants to pray in school, they are not allowed.

Where do I start?  Let’s start with the persecution complex.  How does a member of the biggest religious group in this country, who has more opportunity to publicly flaunt their beliefs, who holy days are more prominent in every aspect of US culture, feel “oppressed”?

Secondly, there can be private prayer in school.  No one is forcing little Timmy NOT to pray silently during recess, study hall, lunch or home room.  There is plenty of time to pray in school.  The problem comes when students are forced by the school to pray a certain way.

And how is compulsory attendance to a class on tolerance of gays and lesbians the same as compulsory prayer?  The correct analogy would be compulsory attendance to a class on tolerance of god whisperers.  A religious tolerance class, if you will, which educates children on the myths of all kinds of religion.

Forcing non xtian kids to pray to a xtian god is comparable to forcing non gay kids to have sex with children from their own gender.  And do we see that happening?  No.  There is a difference between tolerating an act or idea that is not your own, and being forced to participate in it.

So, until lil Adam comes home telling you that Mr. Crandle forced him to anally violate his best bud, Ricky, the xtian community has nothing to complain about.
